Booking Information
In-Person Mock Exams 2024
In-person mock exam sittings for 2024 are now available to book. Most of these mocks will be held at Harrow College and some will be held at Eleven Plus Exams Centre in Harrow.
We recommend booking on our waiting list. We will release limited exam sessions specific to our tuition students: additional seats for these sessions may be opened to those on the waiting list. We will also aim to cater for demand and arrange additional sessions if there is high demand for specific mocks.
Most of our mocks will be GL Assessment as CEM no longer provides paper exams for grammar schools, and only provides online exams. However, we do continue to provide these exams to our students as there is significant overlap with the GL Assessment syllabus. These exams can be more time pressured, which also enables students to develop better time management by sitting them.
Please read our Booking Terms for information on amending bookings and cancellation fees.
Online Mock Exams
Our online mock exams can be sat at any time, suited to your convenience. Full feedback reports are issued on the same day as the test is completed, with cohort comparison of the other students who have sat the same exam. To give customers more flexibility, in addition to replicating all of our in-person mock sets, we have also created separate sets of mocks in single subjects. This enables you to pick and mix the subjects that are most relevant to your target school or focus on a specific subject where your child needs more practice in order to address weaknesses.
We provide 8 mocks in each subject as below:
- GL Maths - Sets I to VIII
- GL English - Sets I to VIII
- GL Verbal Reasoning - Sets I to VIII
- GL Non-verbal Reasoning - Sets I to VIII
Further information about our 11+ mock exams
Mock paper set A, B, C ... or I, II, III ...
- Mocks are categorised by exam board.
- We label the sets so that you can easily identify which exams you may have already sat, as some mock sets are issued across multiple exam sessions.
Difficulty level
- Mocks sets are all of equal level. E.g. Set A is not easier than Set D. Your child can sit any mock in any order.
No duplication between different mocks
- All individual exam sets are unique so there is no duplication of paper content.
Amendments to in-person exams
- You can amend your booking online at any time up to 72 hours before the date of sitting free of charge.
Cancellations of in-person exams
- You can cancel your booking online at any time up to 72 hours before the exam, subject to a cancellation fee of £15.
Waiting list for in-person exams
- Our unique waiting-list option is an additional service that provides an opportunity to book an exam that may be full.
- To get on the waiting list, you must book the exam in the usual manner and make a payment. You will receive a full refund if we cannot offer you a place.
- Any places that become available due to the release of additional seats or due to cancellations are automatically offered to those on the waiting list.
- We recommend that you take advantage of the waiting list option, as we aim to arrange additional sittings where an exam is in high demand.
- You can always cancel your waitlist place at any time and receive a full refund.
- Once your waitlist place has been offered you can only receive a full refund of the exam if you notify us within 24 hours that you cannot take up the confirmed place.
Exam reviews
- Most exams, except for the longer Henrietta Barnet mocks, have a review of the mock papers immediately after the mock sitting.
- The review typically lasts for at least 1 hour following the exam sitting.
- The reviews are led by our teachers and subject experts and will focus on the hardest questions in each paper, as well as any tips and techniques for subject success where relevant.
- All review slides are professionally prepared.
- Your child may bring a notebook in order to make any notes during the review.
- If your child cannot stay for the review, your feedback report will still provide access to all the answers and explanations to the questions that they got incorrect or skipped, which you can review at home.
- Reviews may be subject to staff availability.
Duration of the exam session
- The booking pages provide the approximate session start time of the exam or the registration.
- You will receive exact registration and collection times usually a few days before the exam.
- Most sessions can be expected to last a minimum of 3 hours, due to most exams comprising two papers and a 1 hour review session.
Parent information talks
- Keep an eye out for our parent talks, which are normally held during the July and August mocks.
- In order to book these talks, your child must have sat at least one mock exam with us.
